The Five Reiki Principles

1.      Just for today, I will not be angry.

Anger at others or oneself or at the whole world creates serious blockages in one’s energy. It is the most complex inner enemy.

Reiki is an excellent tool to remove anger blockages which have accumulated in the body over years, but it cannot remove the residue of current anger which occurs daily.

Letting go of anger brings Peace into the Mind.

2.      Just for today, I will not worry.

While anger deals with past and present events, worry deals with future ones. Although worry is not always a negative phenomina, endless worries may fill one’s head and each one bores a small hole in one’s body and soul. While anger requires a focused Reiki treatment to remove obstacles, worry requires the energy to be spread throughout the entire body.

Letting go of worry brings Healing to the Body.

3.      Just for today, I will be grateful.

Be grateful from your heart. Inner intention is the important element in this principle. Simple things such as saying thanks, showing forgiveness, smiling, using kind words, showing gratitude etc. can improve others lives and makes them feel happy.

Being thankful brings Joy into the Spirit.

4.      Just for today, I will work honestly.

Support yourself and your family respectably, without harming others. Earn a respectable living, live a life of honour.

Working with Honesty brings Abundance into the Soul.

5.      Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

Honour your parents, honour your teachers, honour your elders.

Being Kind brings Love into the Soul.

ANTAHKARANA 2 - A LITTLE ABOUT CHAKRAS

 For those who are unfamiliar with the chakra system, just imagine that chakras are the necessary batteries in our body. Each battery being responsible for charging a whole Department. Imagine a shop with 7 aisles of products with different functions ie. fresh goods in one, household cleaners in the next, animal foods in another, etc. These incredible batteries last a lifetime and they are RECHARGEABLE. So your chakras are amazing centers of healing energies. Most if not all spiritual therapies and healing systems use the chakra system to rejuvenate the human body.The illustrations below show the physical or  emotional aspects of the seven major chakras.

 You can use them to help you visualize your own chakras and as you put concentration on each in turn it will make you feel better. Just by focusing attention on your own chakra is a powerful exercise. Healing of the associated organs or emotional aspects indicated, starts immediately and when you also place an Antahkarana symbol on that chakra point, healing begins instantly. Chakras have many dimensions but this is a simple way to use them for healing.

ANTAHKARANA - A Powerful Healing Symbol (Part1)

Used as powerful symbol of healing that is widely used by REIKI healers the world over.  It is part of our spiritual anatomy, connecting the physical body with our higher selves.  It is an effective way for the two auras of the self to communicate and perhaps that is why it has been so effective as a sacred meditation and healing tool. It is said that just having this symbol around you creates a positive effect on your Chakras and your Aura.

This sacred symbol remained a secret for thousands of years, known and used by only a few. The Antahkarana is an ancient symbol used for healing and meditation and has been used in Tibet and China for thousands of years. 

For healing purposes, Tibetans created candlelit rooms and in the centre of the room they placed a large oval clay bowl (symbolising the Cosmic Egg) which was placed on a bench. This bowl was filled with a few inches of water (representing the waters of life). The Antahkarana symbol (usually made of silver) was placed in the centre of the water bowl. One wall of the room was made of highly polished copper which created a healing mirror. The opposite wall displayed tapestries which depicted the Reiki Healing Symbols. The healer sat on the bench and would meditate using his or her concentration to unite the energies of the symbol with that of the person requiring healing. This meditation bound the inner knowledge of the meditator with the transcendental energies of the Reiki Symbols reflected in the polished copper mirror. Whilst the Antahkarana focused the energies generated and caused them to flow through all the Chakras into the earth.

 The Antahkarana symbol creates an energy that has a direct effect on the human aura, directly reaching chakra points in various ways. Now, it is a widely known symbol and it is claimed by those who use it, to have a consciousness of its own. It interacts directly with the aura and the chakras; and it is said to know how to vary its healing effect according to what is needed at the time.

Spiritual energies travel up the spine, over the crown chakra, and down through the front of the body to the root chakra and back up again, continuously moving around and around. This flow of energy balances the chakras and prevents excessive build up of energy in any of the chakras. The effect is often invigorating, adding a perceivable boost to vitality. This energy flow has both a grounding and cleansing effect on the body, and as it activates the chakras, it heals the organs associated with each of them.

REIKI AND MIKAO USUI

REIKI HEALING SYSTEM


Note that a legend has a lot of Story and little Reality. The story is that one day Mr. Mikao Usui while teaching religion in a Christian college in Japan, was talking about Jesus Christ. His students: if it's true that Jesus could heal where are the teachings now? Not having answers for his students Usui travelled the world looking for a system of healing that worked and did not find it. He returned to Japan and began to meditate and fasting for twenty-one days on a Sacred mountain. After twenty-one days a sphere of light hit him in the third eye (brow) and he understood all the Reiki healing systems. Going down the mountain trips and hurts his foot and it healed. Further down the mountain   he heals a toothache  for the innkeeper's daughter.
Dr Usui  did not return to the school but decided to dedicate his time to applying the healing system to the poor and beggars on the streets of Japan. Some time later he realised that the people he had previously healed were returning. It was then that he realised that because his healing had been given freely they held no value to the people and they had again become ill.
He then decided to open a Reiki clinic and several people studied under him to learn the mastery of the system of healing, including his good friend and soldier named Hayashi to whom he entrusted the direction of the clinic.
While on vacation in Japan a Hawaiian lady called Takaya gave him a call with  Appendicitis, she refused surgery but decided  to go to Usui's clinic. Hayashi healed Takata  and was so his interested she studied the first level of the system. Takata returned to Hawaii and practiced Reiki Healing System for some time until until one day  Hayashi  visited Hawaii and taught Takata the second level and Master System.
Takata in later life taught his granddaughter Furomoto and her husband. It was Furomoto and her husband who created "Reiki International Alliance" and introduced the  Reiki Healing System in America and Europe. After a while some Reiki Masters did not agree with the soaring popularity of Reiki Alliance and become independent Masters.

STRESS and REIKI

Whilst not all stress is harmful, prolonged stress can have a devastating effect on the body. Research suggests many illnesses may be directly or indirectly influenced by prolonged stress.
When we become stressed an alarm within the brain is activated which sends a message to the body. The nervous system is alerted and hormones are released to sharpen our senses, deepen respiration, quicken our pulse and tense our muscles. This is often referred to as the 'Fight or Flight' response. 
When stressful situations go unresolved the body can remain in a state of constant alert which increases the wear and tear on our biological systems and can result not only in fatigue but damage.
Sometimes people experience stress and/or depression. Stress can be internal or external. Internal stress comes from psychological issues where you may 'worry yourself sick' for example. External stress can come from your environment or relationships. Depression may be triggered by major life changes like a death, birth, job loss, divorce etc.
Stress has been linked to the six leading causes of death: Cancer, Heart Disease, Lung Problems,  Cirrhosis of the Liver, Accidents and  Suicide. During a 20 year study, conducted by the University of London, it was concluded that unmanaged reactions to stress are a more dangerous risk factor for Cancer and Heart Disease than either cigarette smoking or high cholesterol.
Most problems start in the mind and then later show up in the body. Each illness has a specific message for us and we must learn to recognise and listen to that message. Chronic sleep deprivation can result in our bodies storing more fat, slower metabolism and increased appetite and so the circle begins...
The primary aim of Reiki is to help restore the body's energy balance and aid natural self healing. Reiki is effective in calming the body and relieving stressful symptoms.
Reiki can be used as a preventive measure for stress by rebalancing and helping us to find a centre of peace within, significantly reducing symptoms.
Reiki helps strengthen and sustain the body's Immune System by assisting energy within us to reach all parts of the body. When we are out of tune, our bodies respond by creating a symptom or an illness. However, when it is in balance, the body can better defend itself against the effects of environmental pollution, contagious diseases and the debilitating effects of prolonged stress.
Whilst Reiki is not intended to be a replacement for any treatment prescribed by a Doctor, Reiki supports treatments and is a doorway to clarity and wholeness, an invitation to wellness.
