JASMIN - Jasminum officinale

It takes about 8 million flowers to make a kilogram (2.2lbs) of oil. The flowers have to be hand picked before dawn, hence this oil is expensive, but for me it is well worth it. It is grown in Egypt, France, India, Italy and Morocco.
Jasmine has been prized - above all for its scent which is rich, exotic and romantic. It has been used for many years in toiletries and is used in most great classic perfumes due to its sensual tones.
The oil is deep red in colour and smells as fragrant as the flower. It is uplifting, relaxing and imparts confidence, optimism and sometimes euphoria. It is good for dry and/or sensitive skin, but also is good for aches and cramps.
It is excellent for depression, apathy, frigidity, fatigue, stress and irritability. It is great for PMT and also an excellent skin-softener.
USES AT HOME: Massage, baths, inhalation, poultices, compresses.
Jasmin mixes well with most oils so it is very good to add to recipies for relaxing baths or massages.
Add 3-4 drops to a saucer of water and place on a radiator to make everyone feel mellow.
