GERANIUM

This oil is extracted from fresh flowers, leaves and stalks. It is cultivated in Egypt, France, Italy, Madagascar, Russia, Spain and in the Congo.
Traditionally its close relative 'Herb Robert' has been used in medicine for centuries. However, Geranium oil has only been used since about 1850.
This essential oil has a rosy-sweet, minty-lemon smell and works well as both a tonic and sedative on the nervous system. It is mildly antiseptic and helps to soothe skin.
It is one of the most imortant oils used in aromatherapy. It can lift your mood, send you to sleep, give you energy or relax you completely.
It helps to balance hormones during pre-menopause and menopause. Aids lymphatic circulation to help with bloating, fluid retention.
It is also very good for cuts and bruises. Plus burns, acne, broken veins and for mature and dry skin.

USE AT HOME: Massages, baths, inhalation, compresses.
You can apply a drop directly on cuts and bruises to aid healing.
If added to a hot bath it is a deep relaxant. If added to a cool bath it will energise.
When mixed with a carrier oil it is excellent for headaches and is great for neck, shoulder or facial massages.
