Find yourself a place of safety





The fact is none of us can feel love when we are feeling unsafe, fearful or in flight or fight mode. One way to combat our stress response and replace it with a feeling of inner safety is to sit down quietly and start mentally recalling our support network, whether it be Emotional, Spiritual or Physical. Review our Internal and External Resources - family, friends, our abilities and talents, our work, our hobbies, our faith - all we can call upon to help us deal with whatever life is throwing at us. In other words 'anything' or 'anyone' we love and would feel strengthened  by. 
Spend time thinking of each one individually, savouring the feeling of support. Allow yourself to consciously FEEL that feeling of being supported, loved and safe.
On a physical level this positively helps create new neural pathways to your brain.
